A is the local mildly intimidating loner that nobody particularly likes but whose family has lived in the area for centuries and character B is a ray of sunshine and seemingly the embodiment of innocence and goodness that everyone immediately adores even though they just moved in… which is why A grows increasingly desperate to prove that B has been trying to assassinate them.
Dialogue Prompts
1) “You may have everyone in this town fooled but you don’t have me fooled.” “Of course I don’t, you’re smarter than the rest.”
2) “They’re fucking crazy, they’re trying to kill me! Tell them.” “I would never try and hurt you. I’m a pacifist, it’s against everything I believe in.”
3) “You got what you wanted, right? I’m in this hospital. No one believes me, they all think I’m crazy. I’m not crazy.” “I know you aren’t. You’re just confused. I only wanna be your friend.” “Cut the shit, I fucking heard you on the phone with them. You’re trying to kill me.” “Okay, so maybe I’m trying to kill you.”
4) “I’m telling everyone about you.” “Go ahead, they wont believe you.”
5) “Everyone’s gonna find out you’re out to get me. I’m gonna fucking prove it!”
6) “You could tell them everything if you wanted. But I mean, I’ve been nothing but nice to everyone here since I moved. You’ve lived here all your life and everyone hates you. Regular Prompts
1) Person A is a town local no one likes who witnessed a murder but doesn’t say anything because they’re not certain what they saw since it was Halloween. Person B comes to town and is nice and manages to win everyone over, even Person A. But B asks a lot of questions and if A’s being honest with themselves they look like the murderer from Halloween. They slowly realize B is the person and that they’re in town to kill them.
2) Person A is a local no one likes and Person B is their friendly and charming new neighbor who wants to kill them. While they act friendly around everyone else they’re completely different around A. Person A tries to tell people but just ends up looking jealous for attention. There’s a party coming up and Person A doesn’t usually go but they’re determined to prove B is horrible so they go to start a fight. (Bonus if the fight either makes people believe A or B refuses to fight so A looks like an asshole.)
3) Person A’s always lived in town and is known as the person no one likes. When Person B moves into town everyone adores them, but A can sense something’s just off about them. Turns out they’re a murderer but A can’t prove it. Person B hangs around A more explaining they don’t like to be spied on. Person A is determined to get them locked away forever. Person B tells them they plan on doing the same. (Bonus if B gets framed for B’s crimes.)
4) Person A tries to convince everyone the friendly Person B that moved to town is a psycho and that they’re out to get them. They’re perceived as crazy and are put in the hospital. Person B always visits them and is kind and gentle with them. A begins to doubt themselves and soon they begin to believe B’s not who they thought and that their gut feeling told them they were. They apologize to B and tell them they plan on telling the nurses they’re innocent. But the second they say that B reveals their true self and they’re exactly like A said they were. Person a goes crazy and tries to tell people but they just sedate them. (Bonus if B decides not to kill A and tells them they like watching them suffer like this anyway.)
5) Person A is convinced B is trying to kill them because bad things keep happening to them. When everyone tries to convince them otherwise they try to find proof but B continues to be nice to them. When A gives up and tells everyone they were mistaken they apologize to B over dinner. (Bonus if when they’re alone at B’s house afterwards B reveals their true self or B tells them all the bad things that happened were all accidents and that they were just trying to get A’s attention because they liked them.)
6) Person A doesn’t like B even though they’re super sweet to everyone in town they just met. They’re polite and nice but A is the only one who senses something’s just not right about them. When A sneaks around B’s house one night they see B killing someone inside. They call the police and tell them everything but when they go to B’s house the place is spotless and B tells them they were just baking cookies. The police leave and Person B looks to Person A and gives them this unsettling smile before going back inside. They’re then convinced B is out to get them.
7) Person A thinks B is a murderer out to get them while pretending to be nice to everyone else. But it turns out B is a murderer looking for a partner. This terrifies A at first but once they see how B is only killing bad people they decide it can’t be that bad.
8) Person A isn’t fooled by B’s lies like everyone and assumes they’re some sort of assassin with how they’re drawn to A most of the time. They try to convince others B is out to get them but the others don’t take them seriously. When A finally confronts B about the who assassin thing they only laugh and explain that they’re actually a demon and were drawn to A because A’s the only one who could sense their energy. (Bonus if that’s how A finds out they’re half demon or something.)
9) Person A is a recluse put in charge by their family to guard their magic and person B is the one trying to break them out of their shell and are constantly being nice to them. Person A thinks they’re great at first but they soon discover that B knows about them. Like, a lot, about them and they think back to the words their parents said about how someone would come for them to try to take their magic away. They think B is the one and try to convince everyone B is evil, which B denies and asks A what’s wrong. (Bonus if B only knows about A because they wanted to know more about their history in the town and C is actually the one after them.)
10) Person A rarely leaves their house but when they do everyone in town stares because they’re old money or something. But everyone doesn’t like A anyway. When B comes to town and their happy and smiley and nice to everyone A is convinced it’s all an act because no one could ever be that nice. B is especially nice to A, baking them cookies, sending them food. Person A thinks B is trying to poison them and they’re constantly being rude to B. Everyone shames A but B never says anything and just tries harder the next day. Eventually Person A finds them at their door and gets angry claiming they know B wants to kill them. But B just apologizes and confesses they just wanted A to like them because they’re not used to people not liking them. (Bonus if A feels bad and invites them in and they actually turn out to be good friends.)
